COCOON

Parco della Filandetta, Valdobbiadene, Italy 2019

Material: Willow twigs, silk scarfs onto wire grid
Size: 220 cm x 60 cm

The oversized spindle in the Parco della Filandetta is an hommage to the women that were working in the nearby former silk factory where they produced silk from the cocoons of the silk worms.
Into a structure from willow twigs were integrated silk scarfs donated by women that today are producing prosecco in this location. In its simulated rotation the form expresses a maximum of concentration.

The art work was realized during an artist residency by Bortolomiol Prosecco SPA, Valdobbiadene, Italy
