Horizon

Landscape Drawing

Project En Route, in the landscape of Aragon, 2003

A number of about fifty T-shaped wooden poles are mounted on the fields next to a curve near Muel. From one special point of view on the street the hight of these objects refer to the horizon of the mountain in the distance.

Approaching by car at first you see an abstract "forest" of objects. When passing the special view point for a moment they seem to touch the horizon, very gently lying at the borderline between the sky and the land like a rough drawing. Then the illusion is falling apart while driving on.

Material: wood beams
distance of the objects to the viewer: 15 m to 150 m
hight of vertical beams: between 2 m to 4 m
length of horizontal T-elements: 0,5 m to 2 m
